Aoi Tori (movie)

The long awaited movie is finally finished! Yay! I've been longing to watch this movie because there's Hongo Kanata XD
His acting is great as always!

Murauchi-sensei (Hiroshi Abe) had been transferred to Higashigaoka High School as a substitute after one of the student tried to attempt suicide last semester. Noguchi Tetsuya, the name of the student, was bullied by his friends. His friends always told him to sneak things from his parents convenience store. That’s why he tried to end his life. His attempted suicide failed, but he moved to another school afterwards.

Murauchi-sensei moved Noguchi’s desk back to the class in his first day. He always greeted Noguchi’s desk in the morning. This made the students felt troubled.

The story is touching, but there’s nothing spectacular. No, it’s not that, it lacks sudden excitement, the ups and downs, heart-thumping climax. The whole movie tells about the students’ uneasiness about the case, especially of one of the main character, Sonobe Shinchi (Hongo Kanata). There’s not much dialogue. The feelings of the characters’ (especially Sonobe’s) were expressed more by wordless scenes.

This movie felt so “quiet”,  but as I watched, I realized that the conflict, the “sudden excitement, the ups and downs, heart-thumping climax” is there. Not in cool fighting scenes or something (there is a fighting scene but not the action movie fighting scene, of course) but inside the characters hearts. And it’s portrayed perfectly in the scenes, words, and the actors’ acting.

The movie didn’t make me cry, but it left a calming impression to me, and gave me another lesson about life.
