BOSS is a drama about Eriko Osawa, a detective that left Japan five years ago to study in America. Now she’s back and becomes the head of the Countermeasure Department, a new unit intended for media appeal. The one that chose her as the head is her old friend Assistant Counselor Shinjiro Nodate, an easy-going guy who spends his time flirting women, including the most beautiful woman in the department and head of the forensics, Reiko Narahashi.

Eriko expected great detectives under her command, but these are what she got.

Mami Kimoto, a girl that got transferred from the forensics because she couldn’t wake up in the morning, couldn’t care less about her job, and declares that she is not interested in people.

Takuma Katagiri, one of the most good-looking guy in the department but refuse to socialize with others, always go home directly after the work shift is over, and has a problem with guns.

Ippei Hanagata, or “Genki” Hanagata, a cheerful detective with no distinct career, often ruins the crime scene due to his excessive enthusiasm.

Zenji Iwai, a gay detective who always makes Yamamura do all the work.

Keisuke Yamamura, an old detective with a bald hair problem, always forgets his bag (either the handle or the bag, they’re detached), associated to misery (according to Nodate).

This drama offers great detective stories with comedy. Very enjoyable. The casts are great too. And I always search for great characters in dramas, in BOSS, they have well established characters, and also interesting.

And I love episode 6, there’s Shida Mirai! I love her. Her acting was great. I didn’t know that she could play an antagonist part. She is a talented actress!
